How PoliticalFinePrint reaches an analysis

Trust should come from being able to check the work, not from trusting the AI. These are the rules every analysis follows.

Principles

Evidence first: Every finding points to the exact excerpt it rests on. If an excerpt can't be found, the finding can't claim source support.
Text and interpretation stay apart: What a document says is presented separately from what the analysis thinks it may mean, and labeled as such.
No verdicts, no scores: We don't grade material, rank politicians, assign truth percentages, or declare anything biased. Wording is described, not judged.
No motive inference: When something is missing, we say “the text does not address X.” We don't guess why.
Show the provenance: Sources, dates, review status, and limitations are on every analysis. Private model reasoning is not.

Primary source

The official record itself: legislation, regulations, executive orders, court documents, transcripts, official reports.

Secondary source

Reporting, analysis, commentary, and organizational material. Useful context, but a description of the record, not the record.

Labels say how well a finding is backed by its cited text. A label is only shown when the analysis can justify it.

Strong source support: Directly stated in the cited source text.
Partial source support: The source supports part of this; the rest is inference.
Context needed: The text alone can't settle this; outside information is required.
Interpretation: The analysis' reading of meaning or effect, not a statement in the source.
Source unavailable: No supporting excerpt was located.

A change is reported only when an official source shows it. Reporting adds context; it never triggers an alert alone.
An alert says what changed, whether it matches your watch, when it takes effect, and the fine print, and links to the evidence. It is never just “a document matched your keyword.”
Every watch lists the sources it covers, when they were last checked, and which are pending verification, unreachable, or not covered. We do not claim to see everything.
When we detect a change we haven't analyzed yet, we say so instead of guessing.

Analyses are AI-assisted and can be wrong. Read the linked source text before relying on a finding.
Analysis covers only the material provided; outside sources are not consulted unless listed.
Submitted text is not verified as authentic.
